Don’t Sign Any Paperwork Until You Have Spoken To An Attorney
An old trick is rearing its ugly head again.
Victims of accidents are being approached very early in their claim (often within weeks) by adjusters offering small sums of money in exchange for a release. Claims adjusters do not always make it clear that these are FULL releases. Some accident victims may think the release is simply for a small part of their claim such as damage to their vehicle. Only when that injury victim tries to go forward do they find out they signed a FULL release and they cannot go forward with their claim. They have accepted pennies on the dollar. Even when it is clear the claims adjuster misrepresented the paperwork or there is outright fraud, it is extremely difficult to get the signed documents set aside in Court.
ALWAYS SPEAK TO YOUR ATTORNEY BEFORE SIGNING ANY PAPERWORK!
